Aygaz became the first company in the sector to receive the Energy Management System certification thanks to the work conducted in 2012 on energy efficiency. The ISO 50001 Energy Management System is based on the principles of companies formulating energy policies, managing energy consumption and making improvements by evaluating the performance of energy management systems. It contributes to areas such as the efficient use of resources, protecting the environment, reducing costs and improving energy performance. As part of the certification process, the existing system was analyzed and improvement were made to the monitoring and measuring system. The Aygaz Gebze Operations and the Yarımca Terminal Offices were certified as a result of a two-part inspection. The Declaration containing commitments prepared by the Sustainable Development Association in early 2013 was signed at the 4th National Energy Efficiency Forum and Trade Show attended by Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Taner Yıldız.
